Lucknow: Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh is busy preparing to conduct panchayat elections by 31 March. In his meeting with officials, CM Yogi has issued instructions to hold the elections. Following the instructions of CM Yogi, the stir in Panchayati Raj department has intensified. The work of finalizing the voter list is being done.
In a meeting with CM Yogi Adityanath, the Panchayat Department officials said that the process of revision of the voter list, full delimitation of panchayats in four districts and partial delimitation in 49 districts is going on. After this, ward determination of three-tier panchayats and reservation of wards will be done. The term of Gram Panchayats in UP is ending on 25 December and all the Gram Panchayats will be dissolved from midnight on this day. In a meeting with the officials three days ago, CM Yogi Adityanath issued a directive to hold the elections by 31 March. All preparations have started.
On 25 December, the beginning of new works will be stopped as soon as the tenure of the village heads ends. The government mandate will be issued by the Yogi government. In most districts, on 25 December 2015, the village headmen were sworn in. After completion of five years, the term will end on 25 December 2020.
