PATNA: Following the hike in the price of petrol and diesel, oil marketing companies in Bihar raised the price of compressed natural gas (CNG) and pipe natural gas (PNG) on Friday.

Gas Authority of India Ltd (GAIL) primarily supplies CNG and PNG in Patna. The business has raised the price of CNG by Rs 3 and the price of PNG by Rs 2. The cost of CNG in Patna is Rs 72.96 with this. Previously, the fee was Rs 69.96 per kilogramme. In the same way, the PNG rate was Rs 37.87 per SCM and has now risen to Rs 39.87 per SCM. The rise in prices is harming the general public, as public transportation has grown more expensive.

The majority of people in Patna now want sharing autos. The fare has been raised by Rs 5 to Rs 10 by the vehicle operators. Similarly, app-based taxi companies have increased the fee by 15% to 20% based on the distance.

Due to environmental concerns, the Bihar government has decided to ban the operation of diesel commercial vehicles in the state; as a result, transporters in Patna are opting for CNG. More CNG stations are also being requested by private commuters around the state.

Petrol costs Rs 116.23 per litre in Patna, while diesel costs Rs 101.06 per litre.
