NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators (COA) has decided to fight Rahul Dravid's case in case of conflict of interest. The COA's decision has raised questions as to why it has not fought the case of Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman if the COA can fight Dravid's case.

Board of Governor S.K. Jain has recently sent a notice to Rahul Dravid, who was appointed the head of the National Cricket Academy, in a conflict of interest case and summoned him on September 26. A senior board official said that the COA should have taken a similar stand in the interest-clash case for Dravid in the case of Saurabh, Sachin and Laxman. To be honest, the COO's arbitrary approach is not understandable, the official said.

All former players should be equal in the eyes of the BCCI. If the COA has now decided to appoint its own lawyer in the Dravidian case, why was it not adopted in the case of Sachin, Sourav and Laxman? Was it because he was in an honorary role and was not directly an employee of the BCCI? This is clearly wrong.

A COA official had announced on Monday that he would fight Rahul Dravid's case. He argued that Dravid was an employee of the board. The case had caught a lot of fuss.
