Chilling wave has wrapped up several parts of North India as mercury levels decreased extensively across the region.Almost about 20 trains were arriving late, near about some 15 got cancelled and two were rescheduled due to decreased visibility conditions in New Delhi.

Uttar Pradesh has reported thick fog shrouding most of its cities, including Lucknow and Agra. Yesterday, the temperature dipped to 9.4 degrees Celsius in Lucknow.The school schedule was also changed in view of the extreme weather conditions in the morning.

Severe cold wave conditions were witnessed at remote places of Punjab, Haryana and north Rajasthan too.Thier are placed in the Himachal Pradesh which knowledgeable the feeling of cold, where during the past 24 hours Keylong in Lahaul-Spiti recorded minimum temperature at -4.9 degree Celsius, Kalpa-1.0, Dalhousie-0.2 degree Celsius, Manali- 0.0 degree Celsius and Shimla recorded 3.4 degree Celsius, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) revealed.Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri area also received fresh-cut snowfall today.In the meantime, snow clearance work was under on Mughal Road that connects Poonch and Shopian districts in Jammu and Kashmir.The national capital was inundated with fog early Wednesday morning.

The conditions same in the areas like Kashmir Valley too, as on Tuesday the Ladakh region stayed literally frozen with Kargil recording minus 15.4 and Leh minus 13.2 as the minimum temperatures.
