Colleges and Universities reopen undergraduate final years classes, Tamil Nadu

Relaxing the lockdown further, Tamil Nadu government allowed reopening of Undergraduate final year classes for all colleges and universities including arts, science, technology, engineering, agriculture, fisheries and veterinary and hostels for them are also permitted to start from December 7. The classes for UG and postgraduate medical and para-medical courses shall begin on December 7, following the guidelines issued by LGC. 

However, the dates for re-opening of other lower semester students will be informed later. Till further orders from the Government of Tamil Nadu, Online classes will be continued. The classes for freshers enrolled during the current 2020-21 academic year would begin from February 1, 2021. Tamil Nadu have given instructions about the guidelines to be followed inside the premises. The Principals of affiliated engineering colleges of Anna University are directed to strictly follow standard operating procedures and existing guidelines given by Government of Tamil Nadu. 

Guidelines for the opening of higher education institutions in Tamil Nadu from December 7 have been already issued. Only 50% of students should be allowed in the college premises. Mask uasge is madatory for students and teachers and social distancing ought to be adopted to avoid transmission of disease. Also, it is ordered to conduct classes in rotation.
