NEW DELHI: Delhi University (DU) has announced that the semester for first-year students will now begin on August 16, following delays in the release of the Central University Entrance Test (CUET-UG) results. This decision was disclosed by Vice-Chancellor Yogesh Singh on Saturday.

Initially, the semester was set to start on August 1, but the delay in CUET-UG results has caused a disruption in the academic calendar. Singh reassured that classes for other semesters would commence as planned on August 1. "The result has not been announced, but it will impact the academic calendar for the students in the first semester. The semester will likely start on August 16. For other semesters, we will begin on August 1," he told ANI.

Singh also noted that the university has not yet received any communication from the National Testing Agency (NTA), which is responsible for conducting the CUET-UG. The NTA is currently dealing with allegations of paper leaks related to NEET-UG and UGC-NET, contributing to the delay in CUET-UG results. According to the NTA's information bulletin, the results were initially expected to be released on June 30, but the delay continues to affect admission schedules across participating universities.
