Bengaluru: Senior Congress leader and former Union minister P Chidambaram on Tuesday lashed out at the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government at the Centre. Chidambaram said the BJP's dumbbell engine government in the country and in Karnataka has completely failed. He said that the BJP people have completely failed to fulfill the promises they made. Therefore, they should be ashamed while seeking votes in Karnataka.
Chidambaram, a former Union minister, further said that the Congress has always focused on real issues. But it is our misfortune that an attempt is being made to suppress the voice of reason. Chidambaram attacked the BJP, saying that the people did not vote for the BJP in the elections. Rather, he formed the government on the basis of deceit and buying and selling. He said that the goal of BJP people is to earn money for their leaders.
In 2018, the BJP emerged as the single largest party in Karnataka. But it was just 9 seats away from the majority. At the same time, the Congress had made a place as the second largest party and formed the government with JDS, which soon fell and then the BJP formed the government.
