SARABHA: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann urged on Wednesday batted for conferring Bharat Ratna award to Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha, and other national liberation fighters with the Bharat Ratna award.

The Chief Minister said bestowing the Bharat Ratna to Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha, Shaheed Rajguru, Shaheed Sukhdev, Lala Lajpat Rai, and others will enhance the prestige of this award while speaking to a crowd at a state-level event to commemorate Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha's martyrdom day in his native village.

He urged that these great martyrs truly deserve this recognition for their extraordinary efforts in freeing India from foreign rule, and he pleaded with the Indian government to do so.

Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha should also be given national martyr status, said Mann, who added that the state would raise this with the Center.

The Mohali airport was given Shaheed Bhagat Singh's name thanks to state government efforts, according to the chief minister. He claimed that the Union government had already sent out a notification in this regard.
To preserve their illustrious heritage, Mann said it is crucial to rename airports, colleges, and other institutions in their honour.

The state will soon finish building the civil air terminal at the Halwara airport, according to the chief minister. He stated that this project will take about 50 crore rupees to complete, and it will cover 161 acres. According to Mann, this project will further promote air connectivity in Punjab and help passengers save time, money, and energy.
The Chief Minister said, the state has a responsibility to create a progressive and affluent Punjab for the benefit of all social classes, as intended by the illustrious martyr.
He believed that the civil air terminal will spur the state's and the Ludhiana district's economic development in particular. According to Mann, this will not only place the state on a strong economic track but also give young people new work opportunities.

The Government Senior Secondary School in Sarabha Village will become a "school of distinction," according to the Chief Minister. He claimed that it would be a fitting memorial to the young martyr who gave his life at a young age on the altar of his nation.

Mann reaffirmed his government's commitment to upholding the goals of Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha, who gave his life in the struggle against the British.

The state government has been working tirelessly to promote sports throughout the state in order to use young people's boundless energy constructively.

The Khedan Watan Punjab Dian, which concludes on Thursday in Ludhiana, is a good move in that direction, according to him.

Mann said that the players now had a stage on which to display their abilities. Earlier, the Chief Minister made a visit to Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha's ancestral home and presented the martyr with flowers.
