Bengaluru:  Karnataka Chief minister Basavaraj Bommai claimed on Thursday that Congress leaders had "misused" Mahatma Gandhi's name and had left the nation in a deplorable situation.

Talking to reporters, Bommai stated: "During the Congress government, a DIG was found to be complicit in a PSI recruitment scam; yet, the Congress government did nothing about it. They didn't even try to suspend or interrogate him. However, we have filed a lawsuit. We have detained senior officers. They ought to own their errors. The situation of Congress is that of a prisoner. They bowed down to lobbies and hid the frauds. They lack the moral authority to lecture others." "Congress has buried several further schemes of this nature. In the upcoming days, they will be revealed " he Added.
Bommai also said that no one was suspended in connection with the KPSC scandal involving the hiring of public prosecutors.

The PSI fraud case is related to irregularities in the appointment of police sub-inspectors in the state.
Priyank Kharge, a former minister and member of the legislature, had previously accused the government and authorities of being involved in a massive fraud involving the hiring of more than 545 candidates for the PSI.
