New Delhi: Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP Rajiv Satava passed away today. In fact, he was infected with the corona virus. His demise has created silence in the political corridors. He was on ventilator for the last 23 days. He was actually undergoing treatment at Jahangir Hospital in Pune. Rajiv Satava is considered close to former Congress president Rahul Gandhi. The Prime Minister and all Congress leaders have now paid homage to his demise. Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself tweeted, "Saddened by the passing away of my friend, Shri Rajiv Satavaji, in Parliament. He was a leader with great potential. Condolences to his family, friends and supporters. Om Shanti".

Apart from him, Congress President Sonia Gandhi said, "Rajiv was a rising star of the seventh Congress. May his soul rest in peace". At the same time, former Congress President Rahul Gandhi tweeted, "I am very sorry for the loss of my friend Rajiv Satava. He was a leader of immense potential who embodied the ideals of the Congress. This is a huge loss for all of us. My condolences and love for his family". Congress leader Randeep Surjewala tweeted, "Silent! Today, I lost a partner who took the first step of political life with me in the Youth Congress and walked together till today. Rajiv Satava's simplicity, frank smile, ground attachment, eyesight and loyalty to the party and friendship will always be remembered. Goodbye my friend! Where you stay, keep shining!".

In addition, Youth Congress President Srinivas tweeted, "When I first came to Delhi, I became national secretary under the leadership of IYC President Shri Rajiv Satava. The untimely demise of a leader of such stature has stunned all of us. May his soul rest in peace. Heartiest condolences to the bereaved family". Congress leader KC Venugopal tweeted, "Congress lost its leading warrior, CWC member, MP, most promising young leader and a dear friend, Shri Rajiv Satava today. I am hurt by irreparable damage. The party will always remember his indelible dedication, engagement and immense popularity. My heartfelt condolences!"

At the same time, Maharashtra BJP leader Yogesh Sagar tweeted, "The death of Congress MP, young leader Shri Rajiv Satava due to Covid-19 is very sad and shocking. My heartfelt condolences to his family members. May his soul rest in peace".
