Lucknow: Ahead of the assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, the change of party of leaders continues. Now, Savita Pandey, the congress' declared candidate from the Tarabganj assembly seat in the Gonda district, has joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). She was given the membership of the party at the BJP office in Lucknow. 

The first phase of voting in UP is going to be held on February 10. All parties are pushing hard to reach the power chair. In such a situation, the candidates are also thoughtfully leaving one party and taking membership of another. The Congress had made Savita Pandey its candidate. Earlier, Rajkumari Kushwaha, who was a minister in the SP government, had also joined the BJP. On Friday, several leaders, including Congress leader Madhu Shukla, had joined the BJP. Former SP MLC Pradeep Singh, former Congress leader Sudha Shukla, state secretary from Basti, Krishan Chandra Singh of Samajwadi Party, Varun Kumar Gupta of Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party (PSP) joined BJP.

Not only in UP, but also in Punjab, the process of changing the party of leaders is going on. In Punjab, veteran Congress leader Jagmohan Singh had joined the Aam Aadmi Party with his sons. It has been told that Jagmohan was angry with Singh for not getting the ticket. In such a situation, he thought it better for himself to change party during the election season.
