Jaipur: Nothing is going well in Rajasthan Congress at this time, on one hand senior party leader and former deputy CM Sachin Pilot has opened a front against his own party's Ashok Gehlot government on the issue of corruption, in which some Congress MLAs have also joined them. Meanwhile, Subhash Maharia, now a former Union Minister and veteran Congress leader, has joined the BJP in Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan. Earlier, he had sent his resignation to Congress supremo Mallikarjun Kharge.

Former Union Minister Maharia has also shared his resignation on his Twitter handle. In which he has written that the Congress government of the state has forgotten the promises of its manifesto. In such a situation, the farmers and youth of the state are feeling cheated. Maharia has written a letter to Kharge that 'after I joined the Congress party, hard work was done at the grassroots level with innumerable workers. As a result of which the Congress party won all the 8 assembly seats in the last election in Sikar and the Congress-led government was formed in the state. We tried to assure the farmers and the youth by going from village to village, from place to place, that the promises made by the Congress party in the manifesto will be fulfilled 100 percent after the formation of the Congress-led government.

Maharia further wrote that, 'After this, in the Lok Sabha elections in the year 2019, the Congress party had to face defeat in all the 25 Lok Sabha seats of the state. But, the Congress party has not held a single review meeting regarding this till date. At present, the Congress-led government in power has completely forgotten the promises of the manifesto. The farmers and youth who voted believing in the promises of loan waiver and unemployment in the state are feeling cheated. In Sikar district, the workers working hard on the ground of the Congress party have been grossly neglected. In such a situation, it is not possible for me to work while being associated with the Congress party. That's why I resign from the Indian National Congress.'
