Mumbai: Nine days have passed since the assembly election results in Maharashtra, but so far the BJP and Shiv Sena have not agreed to form the government. Meanwhile, veteran Congress leader and MP Hussain Dalwai have written a letter to the interim president of the party Sonia Gandhi on forming a coalition government in Maharashtra. He has urged Sonia Gandhi that the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Congress and Shiv Sena should form a government in Maharashtra.

Hussain Dalwai has further said that where the Shiv Sena and BJP in Maharashtra are unable to agree on the formation of a government, the Congress, the people of minority communities, our partners in the alliance, NCP and Shiv Sena together form the government. Congress MP further said that in the presidential elections held in 2007, Shiv Sena supported Congress candidate Pratibha Patil. At the same time, in the 2012 presidential election, Shiv Sena supported senior Congress leader Pranab Mukherjee. After this, Shiv Sena also supported Congress in the 1980 elections.

However, he described it as a personal consideration. He wrote that "everyone knows that in the assembly elections, BJP had included many of our MLAs and leaders in their camp. If they are able to form a government, they will do so again more vigorously. In such a situation, if we are able to form a government with Shiv Sena, then it can be stopped and with this, we will be able to strengthen our base".
