Bangalore: The ongoing tussle between Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar over the Chief Minister's chair in Karnataka has come to an end. Congress has announced to make Siddaramaiah the Chief Minister of Karnataka. Whereas DK Shivakumar has agreed to the post of Deputy CM. Meanwhile, another senior Congress leader has raised questions on this formula. Former Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka G Parameshwara said that the Dalit community has been hurt by the announcement of making Siddaramaiah the CM and Shivakumar the Deputy CM.

According to reports, G Parameshwara, who was the Deputy Chief Minister in Siddaramaiah's previous government, expressed displeasure over the high command's decision, saying that there was a high demand for a Dalit chief minister in Karnataka. But this was not done. The Dalit community has been hurt by this. I could also run the government. If not CM, at least I should have been made Deputy CM. Let us inform that, Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal and Karnataka in-charge Randeep Singh Surjewala announced the name for the post of Chief Minister. Venugopal told that the Congress high command has decided to make Siddaramaiah the CM. Whereas, DK Shivakumar will be the Deputy Chief Minister. There will be only one deputy CM in the state. DK will continue to be the president of the Karnataka state unit till the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

At the same time, Surjewala said that the credit for the victory of the Congress rests on the people of Karnataka. All the leaders including Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge worked hard, this is the victory of collective leadership. He said, both our leaders are eligible to become the Chief Minister. Both can run the state well. But, one has to be named as the Chief Minister. So Siddaramaiah will be the Chief Minister and DK Shivakumar will be the Deputy Chief Minister. However, due to this, senior Congress leader and former Deputy CM G Parameshwara questioned the decision of the High Command and termed it as hurting the Dalits. In such a situation, it can be said that the spark of rebellion in the state has not been completely extinguished and a new drama can be seen in Karnataka in the future.
