Varanasi: The dates of the civic elections in UP may not have been announced, but politics has intensified from now on. The opposition councilors do not want to leave any opportunity to surround the officers and the ruling party. At the municipal corporation headquarters in Varanasi's Sigra area, around a dozen Congress party councilors were seen crawling into the gallery outside the municipal commissioner's office on their knees and elbows. Due to this, Congress councilors also put forth their demand. All of them said that this year no work has started from the Rs 10 lakh allocated by the government for development in the area. The public is not getting the benefit due to lack of work. If the work does not start in time, then the money passed in the budget will go back. If the representatives whom the people send as their representatives to the House if they start crawling on the strength of their knees and elbows, then how will the voice of the people reach the top?

The protesting councilors said that their slippers were even worn out while walking. So he has had to walk on his knee and elbow. Even after the budget of Rs 10 lakh each was passed for development in the area in April this year, the development work has not started yet. So far, the tender for development works has not been done. The councilors said that development works have not started with the money received from the budget from government. As soon as the election code of conduct is imposed, the allocated money will go back to the government and the image of Congress councilors will also be tarnished.
