The same seat has been considered as a stronghold of the Shiv Sena. So in the last assembly elections, Rajesh Kshirsagar had taken the lead on behalf of the Shiv Sena-BJP alliance. But Chandrakant Jadhav had given him the patkhani. Kshirsagar had reached the assembly in 2014 after winning the elections. He was defeated in 2019.
