New Delhi: Congress has started tightening the organization in view of the upcoming assembly elections. Sonia Gandhi herself has taken the command to handle the party that was defeated in the Lok Sabha elections and then the internal upsurge. In this connection, Sonia, who was made the interim president of the Congress, held a meeting with the chief ministers, in-charge and state presidents of the party-ruled states.

In this, it was decided that a coordination committee or other effective system would be created in these states to fulfill and monitor the promises of the Election Manifesto quickly and smoothly. The party leadership has decided to create these effective arrangements in Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan and Puducherry with a view to strike a better balance between the organization and the government.

Congress General Secretary Avinash Pandey said that all the Chief Ministers gave information about the progress made in the manifesto promised in the last assembly election. In-charge and state presidents gave information about the organization. Pandey said that a coordination committee will be set up in the state so that the program of the manifesto can be carried forward rapidly and smoothly.

The steps taken by the Congress-ruled states to deal with the situation created due to the slowdown in the economy were also discussed in this meeting. The meeting was held at the residence of Congress President Sonia Gandhi. The meeting was attended by MP Chief Minister Kamal Nath, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and Puducherry Chief Minister V. Narayanasamy. Dealing with internal factionalism is a serious challenge before the Congress.
