New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has greeted the countrymen on the occasion of 'Hindi Diwas' on Saturday. Amit Shah urged citizens to increase the use of Hindi language in their every day works to realize the dreams of Mahatma Gandhi and the first Home Minister of independent India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

Shah said in Hindi, tweeting that, '"India is a country of different languages and every language has its own importance but it is very important to have a language of the whole country which should become the identity of India in the world. Today, if only one language can do the work of tying the country to unity, then it is the most spoken Hindi language". In another tweet, Shah said, "Today, on the occasion of Hindi Diwas, I appeal to all the citizens of the country to increase the use of their mother tongue and also use the Hindi language with revered Bapu and Iron Man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Contribute to the realization of Patel's dream of one language of the country. Happy Hindi Diwas".

Along with this, PM Modi also felicitated the countrymen on Hindi Day. PM Modi tweeted and wrote, 'Many congratulations to all of you on Hindi Diwas. The simplicity and decency of the language give meaning to the expression. Hindi has incorporated these aspects beautifully".
