New Delhi: The Congress on Monday said it does not accept the Supreme Court's verdict on the release of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi's murderers. The Congress said that the Supreme Court's decision to release the killers of former PM Rajiv Gandhi is completely unacceptable and absolutely wrong. On the order to release the convicts, Congress said that it is very unfortunate that the Supreme Court did not act according to the spirit of the country.

Congress national general secretary Jairam Ramesh said, "The Supreme Court's decision to free the remaining killers of former PM Rajiv Gandhi is unacceptable and absolutely wrong. Congress criticises it and considers it completely unforgivable. It is unfortunate that the apex court did not act in accordance with the spirit of India.'' Let us tell you that in the Rajiv Gandhi murder case, the Supreme Court, who are serving life sentences in the Rajiv Gandhi murder case, Nalini Sriharan and RP Ravichandran to be released prematurely. Both had approached the Supreme Court seeking their premature release.

Let us tell you that the bench of Justice BR Gavai and Justice BV Nagarathna said that the earlier judgment of the Supreme Court in the case of AG Perarivalan, one of the convicts in the case, is applicable in both of these cases as well.
