New Delhi: The Election Commission had announced the by-elections for the 56 assembly seats lying vacant in several states along with the Bihar elections. It also included seven assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh. In the same sequence, the Congress has announced the names of its 6 candidates for the by-elections in UP and Jharkhand.
In the list released by Congress General Secretary Mukul Wasnik, it has been told that the interim president of the party, Sonia Gandhi, has given her consent to the names of the Congress candidates. According to the information, the Congress has announced the names of its candidates on one and 5 seats of Jharkhand. According to the list released by the Congress, the party has decided to field Kumar Jayamangal from the Bermo assembly seat of Jharkhand. On the other hand, Congress has nominated Dr. Kamlesh Singh from Naugawan Sadat assembly seat of Amroha in UP.
Sushil Chaudhary from Bulandshahar seat, Sneh Lata from Tundla seat, Kripa Shankar from Ghatampur seat and Mukund Bhaskar Mani Tripathi from Deoria seat have been given tickets in the by-elections. The process of nomination for the UP Assembly by-election has started on 9 October. The by-elections are going to be held for 7 assembly seats in the state. Voting will be held on November 3 for the by-election. Votes will be counted on 10th and results will be released.
