Hyderabad: Sravan Dasoju, the Congress' national spokesperson, has slammed the Telangana administration for allegedly transferring doctors and other paramedical employees from the Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences (TIMS), demanding that those who risked their lives during the COVID be kept.

He told a press conference here that the government's decision was nothing more than deception, and that there is a severe scarcity of medical personnel in all hospitals, and that their skills should be used wherever there is a need. He claimed that shutting down TIMS was simply an attempt to favour private hospitals.

Sravan announced that the Congress party would launch an agitation and invited MLAs from all parties to join in the struggle. Apart from utilising the medical staff's services in underserved areas, it was critical to retain them for humanitarian reasons.

He said that more than 1,700 nurses had been fired since the number of COVID cases had decreased. "They serviced almost 30,000 people during some of the most difficult moments in human history, and their efforts should not be wasted," he said. He stated that there are over 2,000 nurse vacancies in hospitals, in addition to hundreds of doctor vacancies.
