Congress to meet on Thursday to deliberate on Bharat Jodo Yatra

New Delhi: To address the Bharat Jodo Yatra and other planned organisational programmes, the Congress party on Tuesday held a meeting of all the General Secretary in charge, State in charge, and Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) presidents. The scheduled meeting is set for Thursday, July 14, at the All India Congress Committee's headquarters in the capital.

The Bharat Jodo Yatra, which starts on October 2, aims to link Kashmir in Northern India with Kanyakumari in Southern India.

"Today was the inaugural meeting of the Bharat Jodo Yatra Central Planning Group. On October 2, the yatra from Kanyakumari to Kashmir will begin, and preparations have already underway. Rahul Gandhi was present at the meeting as well "Digvijay Singh, a Rajya Sabha member of the INC, made the statement in a tweet during the "Bharat Jodo Yatra" meeting on June 5.

Sonia Gandhi, the interim president of the Congress, made the "Bharat Jodo" campaign announcement on May 16 in Udaipur, Rajasthan, which was the final day of the Congress-led Chintan Shivir.  The five-month-long yatra, which would start in Kanyakumari and end in Kashmir, will cover a distance of 3,500 kilometres and more than a dozen states, according to party sources.

The senior brass of the Congress, including Sonia Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, will attend the yatra's padayatras, rallies, and public meeting.
