SHILLONG: National People's Party (NPP) chief Conrad Sangma today, March 7, took oath as the Chief Minister of Meghalaya for the second consecutive term.

At Shillong, Prestone Tynsong and Sniawbhalang Dhar take an oath to serve as Meghalaya's Deputy Chief Ministers. Kyrmen Shylla, Marcuise N. Marak, Rakkam, and Abu Taher Mondal Taking their oaths as ministers in the new Meghalayan government led by the NPP.

In the new Meghalayan government led by the NPP, ministers Alexander Laloo Hek, Dr. Ampareen Lyngdoh, Paul Lyngdoh, and Comingone Ymbon took their oaths.

Shakliar Warjri swears to serve in the new Meghalayan administration, which is led by the NPP. The NPP-led alliance in Meghalaya has staked claim to forming the state's administration with the support of 45 MLAs, including two from the BJP.

Eight cabinet positions will be distributed among the allies, with two going to the United Democratic Party (UDP), one to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and one to the Hill State People's Democratic Party (HSPDP).

After winning 26 seats in the Assembly elections, Sangma's NPP is poised to establish the government and serve as chief minister for another term.

According to information released by the Indian Election Commission on March 2, Sangma defeated Bernard N. Marak of the Bharatiya Janata Party by a margin of 5,016 in the South Tura constituency.

The United Democratic Party (UDP) won 11 seats in the assembly elections, according to figures released on Thursday. Five seats were won by Congress. Five seats were also awarded to Trinamool Congress, which had already inducted all Congress MLAs.

Three parties won two seats each: BJP, People's Democratic Front, and Hill State People's Democratic Party. Four seats went to the Voice of the People Party. Independent candidates took home two seats.

While they were allies in the previous administration, the BJP and NPP ran separate campaigns for the assembly.
