Vaishali: The conspiracy to attack Union Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai has been foiled. Bihar's Vaishali police have arrested a youth from Hajipur. It is reported that the culprit had threatened to shoot Nityanand Rai on Mahashivaratri. The Union Minister is about to attend the Shiv Baraat to be held at Hajipur on the occasion of Shivratri. The video went viral on social media with people threatening to kill him in the Baraat.

According to media reports, BJP workers had lodged a complaint at the Hajipur Nagar police station. Thereafter, the Hajipur Nagar police station arrested a youth late on Monday night on charges of conspiring to kill Union minister Nityanand Rai. According to the city police station chief, he had received a video on WhatsApp. In this, a person was talking about aggressively attacking the Union Minister of State for Home Affairs by making indecent remarks. 

Then on the instructions of the SP, a police team was formed and after identifying the youth, he was caught on Monday night. The person making the threat has been identified as Madhav Jha, a resident of Goraul. He currently lives in Hathsarganj of Hajipur. A detailed investigation is being done in this regard. Nityanand Rai is the Lok Sabha MP from Ujiarpur in the Samastipur district. His home area is Hajipur. In the video of the person that went viral on social media, he is seen in an inebriated state. He is telling his friends that we should take Nityanand Rai's contract. For 3 years he is having a dream on Mahashivaratri that we are killing Nityanand Rai.
