The sanitation workers working on contract have announced to go on strike on Wednesday. They will not pick up the broom and are going to sit on dharna without clothes at gate number 5 of the Civic Center from 10 am to 5 pm. There is a demand for sanitation workers, they are going to be given regular jobs without any delay. Work has been being taken from them on contract for about 20 years and assurances are being given for continuous improvement. The special thing is that BJP and Congress are going to support the sanitation workers' strike, while Mayor Dr Shaili Oberoi has said that she is trying to convince the sanitation workers through talks. At present, looking at the mood of the sanitation workers on Tuesday, it appears that they have made up their mind to go on strike.

Not only this, the entire Union Core Committee of Delhi Municipal Corporation has also called for a dharna at the Civic Centre. In which thousands of sanitation workers from all the 12 zones are estimated to participate. But if such a large number of sanitation workers stop work together, the cleanliness system of Delhi can definitely deteriorate. The number of sanitation workers in Delhi is limited in terms of population and area. Every road is not being swept every day, nor is everyone engaged in collecting garbage from everywhere throughout the day. If thousands of sanitation workers stop work together, then it is certain that there will be heaps of garbage on roads, streets and intersections. Approximately 11 thousand metric tons of garbage is generated every day in Delhi.

Sanitation workers are being exploited - Raja Iqbal Singh: Leader of Opposition in the Municipal Corporation and former Mayor Raja Iqbal Singh has said that the sanitation workers of Delhi are going to go on strike on Wednesday. Because they are being exploited. During the rule of AAP party in the corporation, the employees are troubled and the people of Delhi are suffering. The drains in unauthorized colonies and PWD drains are filled with debris. The roads of Delhi are full of garbage.

Congress will join the strike of sanitation workers: Nazia Danish, leader of the Congress party in the Municipal Corporation, has said in a press conference that there is a demand to regularize thousands of sanitation workers and other employees of other departments who have been working as temporary employees for a long time. The entire union core committee of the corporation has announced to stage a strike regarding the demand. On the instructions of Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee President Arvinder Singh Lovely, all the workers of Delhi Congress will participate in it.
