Latur: A dispute has erupted in Maharashtra's Latur district over the entry of Dalits into the temple. After the incident, the residents have announced a boycott of the Dalit community. However, police claim that the dispute has been resolved by holding a meeting. According to the report, it is being claimed in the social media post that the quarrel started three days ago over the entry of two Dalit youths into the temple.
According to reports, the two Dalit youths are residents of Tadmugalli village in Nilanga tehsil of Latur. Both had entered the Hanuman temple in the village to offer prayers. He also boiled coconuts in the temple due to this. The other people in the village were shocked by this. He raised questions on Dalit persons entering the temple. After the incident escalated, the people of the village decided to boycott the entire Dalit community.
After this case, a video of a flour mill owner of the village also went viral on social media. In the viral video, the mill owner is seen refusing to grind the flour of the Dalit family. In the video, the mill owner was heard saying that if he goes against the decision of the residents, he will have to face serious consequences and pay a fine of Rs 40,000 in lieu of Rs 10 received from a Dalit family. Dinesh Kumar Kolhe, DSP of the area, said that both sides were called and a meeting was held in which the dispute ended. However, he refused to accept entry into the temple due to the dispute. He said there was a dispute between the individuals over some misunderstanding. The erring persons have apologised in the committee meeting.
