In Jharkhand's Chatra district, an Army jawan was thrashed severely for not wearing a mask. Some local police officers can be seen beating up the jawan in the middle of a market in a new video that has surfaced on social media. Many of them, ironically, were not wearing masks.

The incident occurred at Mayurhand, and the jawan arrived on a motorcycle. During a mask-checking operation, he was apprehended. He was interrogated since he was not wearing the mask, but it quickly escalated into a heated argument. Before beating up the jawan, identified as Pawan Kumar Yadav, with boots, one of the police officers grabbed the bike's key. A gang of unruly police officers assaulted Yadav with kicks and blows.

Locals began to protest against the police, and a case was filed at the Mayurhand police station. The incident was reported to the Superintendent of Police's office in Chatra, and three police officers and two additional officers on the scene are suspended. Rakesh Ranjan, the Chatra SP, has also requested a report on the incident. Sunil Kumar Singh, a local MP, also spoke with the authorities and asked that the perpetrators be held accountable.

"The problem was brought to my attention by a viral video. I've requested DSP (headquarters) to check into the situation and give a report as soon as possible. No one will be spared if they are found guilty." said Ranjan to the media.
