Mumbai: Corona cases have started increasing again in Maharashtra. The trouble is that 18 cases of the XBB variant have been reported in the state so far this month. This is another subvariant of omicron itself. Due to this subvariant, there has been a spurt in corona cases in Singapore, it is also being described as more infectious. Now cases of the same variant are being reported in Maharashtra. In view of the situation, the BMC has issued guidelines saying that people should be careful, as the new variants are more infectious than other sub-variants of Omicron such as BA.2.75.

Not only this, but these variants also have the ability to dodge immunity. After the increasing cases of Corona and getting new variants, the central government has also become alert. On Tuesday, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya held a meeting on the corona situation. According to the news, in this meeting, Health Minister Mandaviya instructed the officers to detect the new variant as soon as possible. For this, genome sequencing should be expedited.

Apart from Maharashtra, Kerala, Karnataka, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Manipur, Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh have also seen a spurt in corona cases. The concern about the XBB variant is more that it spreads rapidly, which is why cases had increased very fast in Singapore. At the same time, experts believe that the symptoms will not be very serious in people infected with this variant, but the number of patients admitted to the hospital can increase. The reason for this is that the XBB variant has been mutated several times.
