Patna: At least 72 more doctors of Nalanda Medical College and Hospital in Patna, the capital of Bihar, have been found corona infected. With the detection of fresh infection on Monday night, a total of 168 doctors and PG medical students have been found corona infected in the last three days. The samples of 153 doctors of the same NMCH were taken, out of which the report of 72 has come positive. RT-PCR test of 69 doctors was conducted on January 1, out of which 20 were found positive.

On January 2, 194, RT-PCR test was done by medical students and junior doctors, out of which 84 were found infected. Vinod Prasad, medical superintendent of NMCH, said, 'All the infected medical staff and students have been shifted to the isolation ward. He is under observation and his health is normal. Meanwhile, Bihar registered 344 new cases on Tuesday, including 23 from the Takht Sri Harimandir Sahib complex, four doctors from Patna AIIMS and four from the same family in Patna's Rupaspur.

A total of 160 cases were reported in Patna on Tuesday morning. Meanwhile, 88 cases were registered in Gaya, 11 in Muzaffarpur, nine in Munger, seven each in Begusarai, Darbhanga and Bhagalpur, five each in Lakhisarai, Saharsa, five each in Jehanabad and West Champaran, Araria, Nawada, Madhepura, Three each in Siwan, Aurangabad, Gopalganj, Khagaria, Nalanda, Vaishali, two each in Samastipur, East Champaran, Banka, Kishanganj, Madhubani, Rohtas, Sitamarhi, Sheohar, Supaul and Sheikhpura one corona each was found infected, whereas here Four people found infected had come from other states.
