New Delhi: India is now coming out of the deadly second wave of corona, but the worry is that people are facing a lot of problems even after recovering from corona. Such problems are being termed as 'Long Covid' by the doctor. He says patients who have recovered from corona face problems for a long time.

Dr. Atul Ingle, Senior Consultant Nephrologist and Transplant Doctor at Fortis Hiranandani Hospital, Vashi said that kidney failure, protein leakage and increase in blood pressure can also occur long after the corona heals. A study of corona patients has shown that there has been an increase in bad kidney, protein leakage and blood pressure at the end of 6 months from the recovery of the corona to the acute stage of infection.

Doctors said a study conducted in May observed these problems at the end of six months from corona recovery to an acute infection stage. The study said that kidney failure is not known soon after recovering from corona. The symptoms are not visible at the beginning. Sometimes kidney problems are detected in the advanced stage. For the first time, a study revealed that 13 percent of patients with normal EGFR were also disturbed, while they did not show any symptoms. Discharged patients should undergo continuous screening as sometimes no symptoms related to it are visible.
