Corona outbreak in Kerala, number of infected crossed 50,000

Thiruvananthapuram: On Wednesday,  2,333 new infections of corona have been reported in Kerala, after which the number of patients has crossed 50,000. After the death of 7 more people, the death toll has increased to 182. The total number of patients has now increased to 50,231. Health Minister KK Shailaja has said in this regard that at least 2,151 people have been infected, while the information of contact source of 52 people is not yet known. Corona patients include 17 health workers. Now 17,382 people are being treated in different hospitals and 32,611 people have been cured.

Of these, 1,217 infected have been discharged from the hospital today after recovering. Shailaja has told in a press release that more cases are coming up in Thiruvananthapuram. 540 new corona have been found. After this, 322 cases have been reported in Malappuram, 253 in Alappuzha, 230 in Ernakulam, 203 in Kottayam. He further informed that 7 more people have died, including a 90-year-old woman from Adoor in Pathanamthitta District. So far 182 people have died of Corona infection. Sixty of the new cases of infection have come from abroad while 98 have returned from other states.

There are 572 places affected by Corona in the state. Police have said in a press release that on Wednesday, 1,810 cases have been registered in connection with violation of Corona rules, 1,094 people have been arrested and 229 vehicles have been confiscated.
