The verdict was pronounced in Indonesia's East Jakarta District Court. A three-judge panel said Shihab had made a false statement about his corona investigation report. Shihab had said in a video that he was completely fine while he was infected with corona infection at that time.

The court said that an influential personality like Shihab created confusion among individuals by lying. At the same time, they put many lives in danger. Shihab has been under arrest since December 13. The judge's panel said that his sentence will be reduced as per the time he has spent in jail.
