New Delhi: In view of concerns over the new 'Omicron' version of the coronavirus, the New Delhi district administration issued a show-cause notice to American Airlines on Friday for allegedly not following the Centre's guidelines for foreign travellers. American Airlines has not responded as of yet.

The notice was sent to the airline by the sub-divisional magistrate of Delhi Cantonment Piyush Arun Rohankar of the New Delhi district, according to officials. According to the notification, the US airline has been granted a 24-hour grace period to react to the notice, after which failure to answer would be considered acceptable for beginning action under section 188 of the IPC and related provisions of other applicable laws. The firm has not responded to this request yet.

The general manager of the airline was issued a show-cause notice for allegedly not following the guidelines after the landing of Flight AA 292 New York JFK at T3 terminal of Indira Gandhi International Airport here.
