Coronavirus infection in private hospitals and laboratories of Rajasthan will now be tested for Rs 2200. The state government issued a directive in this regard on Saturday. Additional Chief Secretary Rohit Kumar Singh issued instructions for all private hospitals and laboratories.

Accordingly, the state government has set the maximum rate of RT-PCR test of infection at Rs 2200 (including GST / all taxes) in NABL accredited and ICMR approved coronavirus infection testing in private screening laboratories. Instructions have been given to ensure that all the required protocols are examined by approved private laboratories for coronavirus screening.

In his statement, Singh said that coronavirus testing is being done free of cost in 20 state medical institutions in the state and coronavirus infection is being tested in four private laboratory laboratories accredited by NABL and approved by ICMR. The Additional Chief Secretary stated that on the instructions of ICMR, the ceiling for testing of Covid in private testing laboratories was fixed at Rs 4500 per test. But the state government has fixed this rate at Rs 2200 through the powers conferred in Section 4 of the Rajasthan Pandemic Ordinance, 2020, with a view to providing easy and accessible screening facility to the public at low prices.
