Centre sends 72.21 crore vaccine doses to states and Union Territories

New Delhi: The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Sunday reported that more than 72.21 crore doses of corona vaccine have been given to states and Union Territories so far. The Health Ministry said that 72,21,17,085 doses have been provided to the States and Union Territories so far through all sources.

The same Central Government is supplying 75% of the vaccine produced by vaccine manufacturers in the country free of cost to the States and Union Territories. The Ministry also said that in addition, 57,56,240 vaccine doses are present in the pipeline. As per the data released today, more than 5.16 crore corona vaccine doses are still available with states and Union Territories which are yet to be administered.

The universalization phase of the same corona vaccination started on 21st June 2021. As part of the vaccination drive, the Government of India is helping states and Union Territories by providing them free vaccines. The Central Government is making various efforts to speed up the corona vaccination drive and expand its scope across the country. Meanwhile, 28,591 new cases of corona infection have been reported in the country in the last 24 hours. While 338 patients died due to this. The number of infected people in the country has increased to 3,32,36,921. There are 3,84,921 active corona patients in the country, which is 1.16 percent of the total cases.
