Coronavirus's effect is also being seen on elections in India. The body elections in Andhra Pradesh have been postponed. Giving information, State Election Commissioner N Ramesh Kumar said that it has been decided to postpone the civic elections for six weeks. This decision has been taken to avoid the coronavirus.

According to media reports, about 107 cases of coronavirus have been reported in India. According to the data released on the website of the Union Health Ministry, 107 cases have been confirmed till 12.30 pm on Sunday afternoon. However, many people have recovered from this. Two people have also died. However, the dead people were above 60 years of age. All states are taking precautions to avoid the virus. Schools, colleges, gyms, and all public places have been closed in many states.

In Andhra Pradesh, urban and rural body elections were scheduled to be held in four phases. Voting for the first phase was to be held on March 21. According to the election schedule released by the Chief Electoral Officer of the state, voting was to be held on March 21 for the first phase, March 23 for the second phase, March 27 for the third phase and March 29 for the fourth phase.
