Chandigarh: There has been a big reveal about the COVID-19 infection among policemen in the country's state of Punjab. The test report into the COVID-19 infection of police personnel, including 3803 police officers tested positive. However, out of these, 2186 employees have been fully recovered. In the present, 1597 police personnel, including 38 police officers, are positive. Which are being treated in government and non-government hospitals.

DGP Dinkar Gupta said that the police officers and staff of the state are working at the grassroots level. In view of the apprehensions of the infection, all were recently investigated. The reports of 3803 police officers and staff tested positive. At the time of treatment 2186 police personnel have become fully healthy. At present, 1597 officers, employees are positive, including 38 gazetted officers and 21 SHO.

At the same time, about 32 family members of the police personnel have been confirmed to have COVID-19. 50 other police personnel, who were in contact near positive people, are in self-isolation. He said, CM Capt Amarinder Singh has personally known the health of the employees affected by the COVID-19 virus. He also inspected the arrangements made by the department. More than 20 police officers, employees who have been healthy with the disease have voluntarily donated blood plasma.
