Telangana: K Chandrashekar Rao took a significant decision by declaring holidays to the Stamps & Registration Department of the state. As the state government is ready with the New Revenue Act hence the government has decided to hold the ongoing registrations. Meanwhile,  VRO (Village Revenue Officer) system will also get abolish soon. These two move is to remove the corruption in the Revenue department.

The district collectors got orders from Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar to take record details from the VROs today by 3 PM and Somesh Kumar asked district collectors to submit it to the government by 5 PM. Over this decision, VROs expressed displeasure and dissatisfaction. With the removal of position, the Revenue Employees Association has also asked the state government to clear the position of VROs and their future field of actions.

CM K Chandrashekar Rao has raised this point in the past also. He wanted to bring reforms in the revenue department to remove corruption. CM KCR has stated earlier during the Monsoon session of the Assembly that   strong decisions would be taken in the Revenue department. He had also cleared that strikes would only cause 'loss' to employees. Currently, all the registrations of plots, apartments, agricultural lands, villas and houses have been stalled. The government has demanded the Stamps & Registrations department to shut its woking till the new Revenue Act will be brought.
