Dehradun: In Uttarakhand, the number of people who are vulnerable to COVID-19 infection is increasing at a rapid pace. Along with this, the graph of active patients has also increased. Active patients have doubled in the state within a month. On the basis of sample examination, the infection rate has increased to 5.46 percent, which is the highest ever.

The first case of COVID-19 infection in the state was found in Dehradun on 15 March. Since then, the number of COVID-19 infected has exceeded 21 thousand. There are about six and a half thousand active patients in the state. On August 2, the number of active patients in the state was 3032, which has now increased to 6442. According to the Health Department report, 4884 COVID-19 patients are being treated in Dehradun, Udham Singh Nagar, Haridwar and Nainital city. While in the other nine cities, 1558 COVID-19 patients are admitted in different hospitals. 

Anoop Nautiyal, the founder of the Social Development for Community Foundation, studying COVID-19 data, says that infection rates are constantly increasing. The graph of active patients is growing at a rapid pace, such a situation is serious for the state. During the treatment at Rishikesh AIIMS, two eminent businessmen of the city died. As mourning, the traders closed their establishments in the markets. Assembly Speaker Premchand Aggarwal came to Doiwala to console the family. Corona has made the situation in the state more frightening.
