On receiving the information of violence, Home Minister Arsen Avakov, who arrived at the scene, urged the protesters not to come under the pretext and understand the temporary need to keep the evacuated people in isolation. The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zalensky, also assured the local people on his Facebook page that he need not fear it. Ukraine on Thursday evacuated more than 70 people from China, including 45 citizens of Ukraine and 27 foreigners.

When these people were being taken there by buses, the people of Novi Sanjhari village blocked the road. The locals feared that they might be infected. During this time a protestor tried to trample the police line made to prevent him from moving his car. After hours of effort, somehow the buses reached their destination. The situation still remains tense.
