The Telangana government of CM K Chandrashekhar Rao has decided that the salary of the state's chief minister, state cabinet, MLC, MLA, state corporation president and local body representatives will be cut by 75 percent. While it was decided to increase the salary of officers of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and other central services to 60 percent. At the same time, the salary of other employees will be reduced by 50 percent. There will be a 10 percent reduction in the salaries of the state's fourth class, outsourcing and contracted employees. The government says that this will remove some shortage of money to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection in the state.

This salary cut order will be effective for the salary coming on 1 April. A formal order of salary cut can be issued today by the state government so that it will be clear that this decision to cut salary and pension is only for one month or for few months to come.
