Israel's name will soon be included in the list of countries to do the human tests of the Covid-19 vaccine. They are about to conduct a human trial of vaccine by the end of October. Israel has named its Covid-19 vaccine 'Brillife'. According to the information received, the future vaccine is to be developed by the Israel Institute of Biological Research (IIBR). It was founded in 1952 as part of the Israel Defense Forces Science Corps and later transformed into a civil organization. IIBR is technically under the supervision of the PM office but is working closely with the Ministry of Defense.

Defense Minister Benny Gantz visited IIBR on Monday and the process of the introduction of human tests has been called a very important moment. He said that it is a source of national pride. He said that scientists have done a fantastic job. If this experiment is successful, there is going to be big news not for Israel but for the world. The Defense Minister said that Israel can bring good news to the rest of the world. Gantz also gave a time table of vaccine production and other information related to it. During the visit of the Minister of Defense, IIBR Director Samuel Shapira has unveiled the name of the potential vaccine. He said that we had set this target nine months ago on 2 February and we are entering the final round at the end of October.

PM Benjamin Netanyahu called in February to dedicate resources to develop a vaccine for Covid-19. In March, scientists at the institute claimed to have made significant breakthroughs in understanding the biological mechanisms and properties of covid viruses. This includes the ability to produce better antibodies for those involved. In May, Israel announced that IIBR has achieved success in developing vaccines for the coronavirus. This included the development of antibodies for potential treatment along with its patented process.
