Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan has said that the Ministry was prepared to roll out the vaccine for COVID-19 within 10 days of emergency use authorization clearance and subject to final approval by the Central Government.

 Addressing a press briefing, Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan said healthcare workers and frontline workers need not register themselves as their database has been populated on to the C o - WIN vaccine delivery management system in a bulk manner. Bhushan said CoWIN system is made in India and for the world, and whichever country wants to use it, the Indian government will actively help.

The secretary said that the vaccines would be transported under refrigerated conditions. Bhushan added that manufacturers will transport the vaccines to four Government Medical Stores Depots situated in Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai and Karnal. From there, the vaccines would be transported in bulk to 37 stores situated across various states for distribution.
