A three-member SIT will investigate the Sonipat liquor scam of the Indian state of Haryana. The Chief Minister himself has taken the front to stop the smuggling of liquor. Home Minister Anil Vij has given instructions to the Additional Chief Secretary of Home Department to constitute SIT. The SIT will consist of a senior IAS, an ADGP level officer and an Excise and Taxation Department officer. The committee will investigate and submit its report to the government in 20 days.

In his statement, Home Minister Vij has said that SIT will be formed soon for the Sonipat liquor scam. The SIT will be commanded by a senior police officer. This is a big scam, whose wires are related to inter-state gangs. He said that orders have been issued to the DGP to immediately file an FIR in the case. In this case, two police SHOs have been lined up so far. Vij said liquor sales were closed during the lockdown.

From the Sonipat liquor scam, it seems that the liquor mafia may have smuggled into other places in the state with the help of the Police and Excise Department. The DGP brought Sonepat's case to his notice on Tuesday. On which he immediately gave instructions for strict action. This matter was also raised in the cabinet meeting on Tuesday. Taking up the matter, Deputy CM Dushyant Chautala had demanded the Home Minister to constitute SIT.
