Lucknow: The Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh is planning to build a corridor at Krishna Janmabhoomi in Mathura like Kashi and Ujjain. The Yogi government gave this information to the Allahabad High Court on Tuesday. The government has said that to facilitate pilgrims, a plan is being made to build a corridor by acquiring 5 acres of land adjacent to Banke Bihari Temple in Mathura.  
 
According to media reports, the Yogi government has given this information during the hearing of public interest litigation seeking facilities for pilgrims coming to the temple in large numbers. The petition is being heard by a bench of Chief Justice Rajesh Bindal and Justice JJ Munir. Let us tell you that during the Janmashtami program at Krishna Janmabhoomi in Mathura, there was a stampede, in which 2 devotees lost their lives, while 7 people were injured. Since then, many questions have been raised about the safety of devotees. The Allahabad High Court bench asked the UP government to clarify its stand regarding the management of devotees visiting the temple. The next hearing in the case will be on November 17.  
 
On behalf of the government, the Additional Advocate General has told the court that the government is planning to build a corridor by acquiring 5 acres of land around the temple. However, the family of a priest has objected to the plan. They say that the temple is private, it does not require any intervention of government.
