New Delhi: India reported 7,579 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, the lowest number in 543 days, according to the Union Health Ministry. India's active caseload now stands at 1,13,584, the lowest level in 536 days.
Active cases account for fewer than 1 percent of total cases in the country, and it is now at 0.33 percent, the lowest level since March 2020. For 46 days in a row, the daily increase in new coronavirus infections has fallen below 20,000, and for 149 days in a row, less than 50,000 daily new cases have been reported.
Meanwhile, the health ministry reported that the total number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in the country has surpassed 117 crore. Until 7 p.m. on Monday, more than 63 lakh (63,98,165) vaccine doses had been delivered to the recipients, according to the report.
Meanwhile, Kerala last recorded 5,080 new coronavirus cases, taking the tally of COVID-19 cases in the state to 50,89,175. The death toll rose to 37,495 with 40 new fatalities. The number of people who cured from the infection since Saturday was 7,908, which brought the total recoveries to 50,04,786 and the active cases dropped to 58,088, an official press release said.
