'Omicron' figure crosses 650 in India, these 2 states most affected

Mumbai: Within a day, 6,358 new cases of corona infection have been reported in the country. Also shown to 6,450 patients being discharged from the hospital. Now the active cases figure in the country has gone up to 75,456. While the total recovery rate is 98.40 per cent. Meanwhile, cases of new omicron variants of corona infection seem to be on the rise in many regions of the country. The total number of cases of this new variant in India has gone up to 653. Delhi and Maharashtra are the worst affected. Here are the highest number of cases of omicron variants.

The same is 167 cases of the omicron variant in Maharashtra, while 165 cases have been reported in Delhi, 57 in Kerala, 55 in Telangana and 49 in Gujarat so far. The number of patients discharged/displaced/recovered from the Omicron variant is 61 in Maharashtra, 23 in Delhi, 1 in Kerala, 10 in Telangana and 10 in Gujarat. These 5 states are followed by other affected states including Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh and Odisha. The omicron variant is said to be spreading faster. However, no news has been reported so far about its serious symptoms.

The pace of vaccination has been increased to prevent the scourge of infection in the country. So far 142.47 crore doses of vaccine have been given. Active cases are less than 1 per cent of the total cases, currently 0.22 per cent. This number is the lowest since March 2020. While the recovery rate is currently 98.40 per cent, the highest since March 2020. The daily positivity rate (0.61 per cent) has been less than 2 per cent in the last 85 days. In the last 44 days, the weekly positivity rate (0.64 per cent) has been recorded below 1 per cent. So far 67.41 crore tests have been done to detect the virus.
