NEW DELHI: According to Union Health Ministry data, India recorded a slight decrease in Covid cases on Friday, July 29, with 20,409 infections registered in the preceding 24 hours compared to 20,557 the previous day.
During the same time period, 47 more people died, bringing the total to 5,26,258. Meanwhile, the active caseload fell slightly to 1,43,988 cases, accounting for 0.33 percent of all positive cases. The recovery of 22,697 patients brought the total to 4,33,09,484. As a result, the recovery rate is at 98.48%.
Meanwhile, the Daily Positivity Rate has fallen slightly to 5.12 percent, while the Weekly Positivity Rate is now at 4.82 percent. During the same time period, a total of 3,98,761 tests were carried out across the country, bringing the total to more than 87.44 crore.
As of this morning, the Covid-19 immunisation coverage had surpassed 203.60 crore, with 2,69,13,617 sessions completed. Since the start of the immunisation campaign for this age group, almost 3.88 crore adolescents have received their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
