Covid-19 containment measures relaxed in Kyrgyzstan

On Friday, Kyrgyzstan removed the quarantine set on people who had contact with Covid-19 patients and removed the requirement for them to do PCR testing before entering the country.

The country's Health Ministry gave information on the current epidemiological situation and vaccination rate at a meeting of the Republican headquarters for combatting Covid-19. After the meetings, the Health Ministry was directed to implement the new measures beginning February 11, according to media reports. Arrivals must provide either a PCR test certificate or vaccination proof, according to the headquarters.

So far, 199,890 Covid-19 cases have been reported in Kyrgyzstan, with 192,232 recoveries and 2,920 fatalities.  The national operating team for coronavirus containment stated on February 12 that Kyrgyzstan had registered 81 new coronavirus cases on the last day. 41 new cases have been reported in Bishkek, 34 in Chui, two in Naryn, two in Osh, one in Issyk-Kul, and one in Batken. A total of 199,971 coronavirus cases have been confirmed. Four deaths linked to coronavirus infection were registered for the past day.
