New Delhi: The health of senior CPM leader Mohammed Yusuf Tarigami, under government's house arrest in Kashmir, has deteriorated greatly. In view of his condition, he has been admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi. He was brought to Delhi today, ie on Monday morning, and then admitted to AIIMS.
He was placed under house arrest after the Central Government removed Section 370 from Kashmir. The Supreme Court had said last week itself that Mohammad Yusuf Tarigami, who is ailing from Srinagar to Delhi, should be admitted to AIIMS at the earliest. In the past, CPI (M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury was stopped from going to Jammu and Kashmir. He was accompanied by senior CPI leader D Raja. Both were stopped at Srinagar Airport.
It was being said that the CPI (M) general secretary was going to Jammu and Kashmir to meet the people of his party. Since the abolition of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir, Section 144 is applicable in many places in the state. For this reason, the movement of leaders has been banned there. Several restrictions have also been put in place for security. However, they are slowly being eradicated.
